O. Henry Stories with music and dance

The Ransom of Red Chief is a short story by O. Henry first published in the July 6, 1907, issue of The Saturday Evening Post. It follows two men who kidnap and demand a ransom for a wealthy Alabamian's son. Eventually, the men are driven crazy by the boy's spoiled and hyperactive behavior, and they pay the boy's father to take him back.


Seeking a young actor (appearance 10 age) for Austin Shakespeare's upcoming "O. Henry Stories: The Ransom of Red Chief" rehearsals start Jan. 15 and two weekends of performances at the Rollins Theater at the Long Center thru Feb. 25. Some Salary. Boys or girls interested in working with this small professional theater company should email noting experience and photo to auditions@austinshakespare.org ASAP. Diverse ethnicities encouraged.


Shows run February 16 - 25, 2024 at the Long Center’s Rollins Theater. Rehearsals start January 15, 2024, evenings and weekends at Tapestry Dance.
